I married Veronica DeVitis from Arcadia on May 22 1977. We bought our first house in Rosemead at that same time. Two years later we bought a house in Temple City on Agnes two doors down from Las Tunas.At that time I was the foreman at Fiesta Floats and made Rose Parade floats.In 1979 I went to work for another float company in Pasadena which also constructed movie and tv commercial sets. I started a pool cleaning and repair business in 1981 because I was never home and wanted a job I could control and be home for dinner every day at 5PM.I never regretted the decision.
My Daughter Anica, was born on Halloween in 1981 To say Halloween was special is an understatement, too many cool parties.
Kevin Shehe was my neighbor and tom o"Leary loved down the street/ Many of the kids I grew up with were fortunate to live in Temple City as well. Our kids grew up together with the same values that we did. It was pretty amazing to see long time friends still in town and at Live Oak Park.Temple City's truly a great place to grow up and I believe we are all fortunate to have the great teachers and classmates that we did.
After 20 years in Temple City raising my daughter things started changing in Town and it was not pleasant to see the changes. Inflix of asians had taken over the valley and the City Council tried to do an illegal eminent domain on about 450 homes along Las Tunas. had it not been for the network that we all had it might have gotten approved. At the 11 hour we caught it and the next city council meeting was a full on demonstration of homeowners and newscasters. At least 2 council members spent some time in jail.
On that day I decided to get out of Temple City. We lost about 350,000 on the house because of the proposed eminent domain. My pool business was great and we had outstanding books, it sold via an SBA loan within a few weeks.
Because of my daughter we had gotten into snowboarding and had bought a condo in Mammoth Lakes so she could get into a J.C. she could not get into anything at PCC. In this flurry we packed up and moved to Mammoth Lakes not carring about a job our any fears failing. We nailed it with perfect timing.
I once again started a pool business and was soon inundated with more work than I could handle. I purposely kept my business small accepting only referrals from solid contacts.This has been and continues to be a solid little business that I handle by myself.
My wife Dee worked at the hospital for several years and was let go because of a fellow female employee that had a "golden parachute" lawsuit with the hospital and she created a mess for my wife. Ultimately she went to work for the department of homeland security as a TSA officer. She just did retire from that job and has decided to work with her dogs and friends running a dog walking business.
SO... currently life is undecided as she wants to move to the Big Bear area without me which may mean I must sell the Mammoth house and liquidate my business. I have several what if plans in the making and am trying to stay here. I really had plans for my retirement up here but may have to live elsewhere.
Added a few pics on 4/4. Absolutely the last snow pic I am posting of this winter. Two neighbors with no brains that decided they had to get to the slopes before the plows came. The trailer is my residence for the summer. Dee and my daughter Anica. Anica born on Halloween 1981 has been magic to my life. Very proud of her and her family. Wildflowers up Lundy Canyon will be spectacular this year as well as much of the Eastern Sierra's. Zee's favorite dressing ingredients. Add a bit of mint or basil to liven it up, can be used for salads, chicken fish or ??

This may be stretch but it is something I put together just because. The dynamics are too close to ignore.
Right after the lunch break I had Marty Leak biology class. In the class was Mark Anthony the bass player for Van Halen. He was also in a class with me with Mrs Thornquist? Ok, so she was let go because of rumors of having flings with students.
Mark Anthony would ALWAYS be late coming into Leskas class and Leska would state "Mr Anthony youre tardy" and mark would often retort back with "funny, I dont feel tardy"
So, here is the stretch. Van Halen's song hot for the teacher had the lyrics "funny I don't feel tardy" and The whole song has sexual connotations.

One other awesome thing was modular scheduling. When the surf was pretty good, a bunch of us would get Langdale to write off P.E. mods and let us go to Malibu for the afternoon glass off.

Never forget Kathy Zelif tripping me up at graduation which caused about ten of us to be on the ground laughing. Most of were stoned.
